Last Saturday, Valladolid became a meeting point for music, solidarity and environmental commitment during the charity concert “Desafío Solidario”, an initiative organised as part of the Mission 2030 efforts. This event not only aimed to move towards the decarbonisation of the city, but also focused on raising funds for the Valladolid branch of the Spanish Cancer Association, showing how sustainability and solidarity can go hand in hand.
Solidarity Concert in Valladolid – Cristina Ramos y David DeMaría
The stage featured renowned artists such as Cristina Ramos, the talented winner of Spain’s Got Talent and finalist of America’s Got Talent: The Champions, whose powerful voice left an indelible impression on the audience. Alongside her, David DeMaría, known for his emotive ballads and artistic career, brought his sensitivity and charisma, making music not just a show, but a tool to change lives. Together, these artists created an atmosphere charged with emotion and hope, connecting the audience to two crucial causes: the fight against cancer and the fight against climate change.
This concert represented a major step in the Mission 2030 events, whose ultimate goal is to transform Valladolid into a carbon neutral city by 2030. The funds raised at the concert have a double impact: on the one hand, they will help finance the programmes of the Spanish Cancer Association, which provides vital support to people affected by this disease and their families. On the other hand, they will help to strengthen the environmental projects underway in Valladolid, aligned with the Mission 2030 plans.
What is Mission 2030?
The Mission’s projects include initiatives to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, which will reduce energy consumption across the city, and to promote the use of renewable energy, which is key to reducing dependence on fossil fuels. It also encourages the reduction of the carbon footprint by promoting more sustainable modes of transport, such as the use of bicycles, electric public transport and other forms of urban mobility that generate fewer emissions. These actions will be complemented by planting trees in strategic urban areas, a measure that will not only reduce CO2, but also improve air quality and promote biodiversity in the city, making Valladolid a healthier and more liveable place.
In addition to these actions, Mission 2030 works on the energy rehabilitation of housing, ensuring that buildings are more energy efficient, thus reducing both emissions and energy costs for citizens. This approach not only benefits the environment, but also contributes to improving the quality of life of Valladolid’s inhabitants, aligning climate goals with a positive impact on the daily well-being of the population.
Technology for decarbonisation
At Luce Innovative Technologies, we are fully committed to Mission 2030, not only from a technological point of view, but also from a social one. As one of the 12 companies collaborating in this project, we firmly believe that technology is a key element in achieving the decarbonisation goals. Our work is focused on providing innovative technological solutions that enable companies and the city of Valladolid to move towards a more sustainable future. Technologies such as IoT, automation and artificial intelligence can help improve energy efficiency and optimise resources, helping to reduce carbon emissions and facilitate the transition to a cleaner energy model.
However, our commitment goes beyond technology. At Luce IT, we also support events such as this solidarity concert, which not only raises funds for important causes, but also helps to raise awareness in society about the importance of acting collectively to address the challenges of climate change and the diseases that affect so many families. We believe that the combination of social and technological actions is the most effective formula for achieving the goals of Mission 2030 and making Valladolid a model city in terms of sustainability and quality of life.
With our team of experts and our advanced solutions, we will continue to work hand in hand with the authorities and the community to ensure that the goals of Mission 2030 become a reality. Together, we are building a Valladolid that is more sustainable, more supportive and more prepared for the challenges of the future. Here is a short clip of the concert:
