Luce selected for ESAUTOMATIX project development
Today we want to announce that we have been awarded the grant to participate in the ESAUTOMATIX project, an industrial research and development initiative that we is carring out in consortium with Renault Group and the technology center AIR Institute.
This strategic collaboration aims to address new challenges in the automotive sector, specifically in the field of autonomous mobility within controlled industrial environments.
Project Objectives
The main purpose of ESAUTOMATIX is the research of a new technology that allows vehicles to operate autonomously exclusively within the factory. This advancement seeks to improve synergies between automation and manufacturing processes, increasing efficiency in resource management.
Likewise, the project pursues a positive environmental impact, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions by optimizing internal movements and plant logistics.
Our Contribution
Luce IT’s participation in the consortium focuses on a fundamental aspect for the future viability of Industry 4.0: Digital Sovereignty.
Our work will consist of researching and designing the necessary solutions to ensure that the data generated by connected vehicles and the infrastructure remain under the manufacturer’s control and management. The goal is to ensure technological independence and the protection of industrial know-how against third parties, establishing a secure framework for information interoperability.
Project Funding
This project is framed within regional and European technological development priorities.
This project has been co-financed by the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICE) and by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation, and quality research.
Luce IT contributes its experience in Data Governance and integration architectures to ensure the protection and efficiency of information in complex environments. If you wish to know more about our capabilities in this area, do not hesitate to contact us.
FAQ
What is the ESAUTOMATIX project?
It is a research and development (R&D) project whose objective is to create a new autonomous mobility technology for vehicles within controlled industrial environments (factories), improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
Which entities participate in the ESAUTOMATIX consortium?
The project is developed through effective collaboration between Renault Group, the technology company Luce IT, and the technology center AIR Institute.
What is Luce IT’s role in this project?
Luce IT is responsible for researching and designing the middleware architecture necessary to guarantee the Digital Sovereignty of the data. Its function is to ensure that the control and management of information remain in the hands of the manufacturer, avoiding technological dependence on third parties (vendor lock-in).
What does dual architecture mean in the context of this project?
It refers to the research of an architecture that allows the vehicle to operate autonomously while on the production line and inside the factory, but to function in a conventional manual way once delivered to the final customer.
How is the ESAUTOMATIX project funded?
The project is co-financed by the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICE) and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
