UNED transforms its digital experience and reduces student dropout rates
We are proud to announce the success of our collaboration with the National University of Distance Education (UNED), the largest public university in Spain. Together, we have completed a crucial phase in their modernization strategy, implementing a data intelligence system that has allowed us to detect and eliminate critical barriers in their enrollment and academic management processes.
We know that, in a distance education environment, the digital platform is the campus. Therefore, the challenge we addressed together with UNED was clear: optimize their key processes to reduce digital abandonment rates and ensure that technology facilitates access to education, rather than being an obstacle.
Technology to “listen” to the digital student
To face this challenge, our team deployed a comprehensive solution based on two leading technologies: Tealeaf by Acoustic and VWO. These tools allowed us, together with the university’s IT and Business team, to move from assumptions to data-based certainty.
Thanks to the implementation of session analysis with Tealeaf, we achieved unprecedented visibility into real student interaction. Our analysis allowed us to identify 61 specific obstacles —from technical errors to usability problems— that were generating friction in the conversion funnels and hindering essential procedures such as tuition payment.
Subsequently, we used the VWO platform to run A/B tests. This allowed us to validate the proposed solutions before their widespread implementation, thus ensuring that every change we recommended had a real and measurable positive impact on the user experience.
The result: A 10% improvement in procedure completion
The impact of our intervention has been immediate. The analyses project a 10% increase in the successful completion of key processes, a figure that translates directly into more efficient management and thousands of students achieving their academic goals more easily.
