Valladolid makes progress in the video game industry with the new Digital Content Technology Laboratory

Castilla y León is consolidating its position as an emerging benchmark in the video game and audiovisual production industry thanks to the Digital Content Technology Laboratory to be built in the region. This pioneering space, promoted by the Innovation Agency IDEVa, represents a unique opportunity to generate employment and attract talent in key sectors for the digital economy.

During the presentation of the project, local authorities, such as the Mayor of Valladolid, Jesús Julio Carnero, and the Councillor of the Junta de Castilla y León, Leticia García Sánchez, were able to explore this future laboratory through virtual reality glasses, provided by Luce Innovative Technologies. These glasses showed a digital representation of the future laboratory, developed by DaloarStudios, providing an immersive experience that allowed attendees to visualise the facilities in which cutting-edge video games and audiovisual content will be developed.

The relevance of this laboratory has been highlighted in media such as El Diario de Valladolid, which has highlighted the economic and technological impact expected from the project, and in portals such as Valladolid Plural, which underline the laboratory’s capacity to position the region as a relevant centre for the audiovisual and video game industry. In addition, Intereconomía has pointed out that this project is one of the most advanced of its kind in Spain, placing Valladolid as an example to follow in the adoption of new technologies.

A step towards innovation and sustainability

This breakthrough in the technology industry is not only an achievement in terms of innovation, but is also aligned with the sustainability objectives set by Mission 2030, in which Luce IT participates. As part of the mission there is a commitment to responsible technological development, with decarbonisation projects for companies in Valladolid, reinforcing the focus on economic growth that considers environmental impact.

The Digital Content Technology Lab will be a key infrastructure in the region, but it must also be an example of responsible development. The goals of Mission 2030 remind us that technology must go hand in hand with sustainability. As the video game and audiovisual content industries evolve, it is essential that they do so by reducing their carbon footprint and optimising the use of resources, as outlined in IDEVa’s zero emission plans. You can learn more about these sustainability goals at IDEVa’s Mission 2030.

With the creation of this laboratory, Valladolid not only boosts the region’s digital economy, but also opens the door to new employment and collaboration opportunities in the video game and audiovisual production sector. This project is a reflection of everyone’s commitment to technological innovation and sustainable development, demonstrating that digital transformation can and must be environmentally friendly.

We are proud to be part of this initiative that makes Valladolid a benchmark in the digital industry, and we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable technological growth.
