The CDTI has given a positive assessment of Luce IT in the ASVIC project

At Luce IT we are celebrating. We have received official validation from the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), which has definitively approved our participation and the justification of the ASVIC project. This approval by the validation body puts the finishing touch to months of intense teamwork within a top-tier technological consortium.

For us, this milestone is not just an administrative success; it is the confirmation that our commitment to innovation and technical quality continues to bear great fruit.

The Goal of ASVIC: Safe Autonomous Driving

The ASVIC project (Secure Architecture for the Intelligent and Connected Vehicle) was born with a very clear purpose: to research and design an advanced and secure architecture for the vehicles of the future.

The great technological challenge of this strategic initiative has been to allow vehicles to reach a Level 4 of automation (L4) in limited or controlled operational design domains (ODDs). At this level of automation, the car is capable of operating completely autonomously without human supervision under certain specific conditions.

Led by RENAULT, the project has brought together a consortium of Spanish industrial and technological companies in order to promote mobility that is much more intelligent, efficient, sustainable and, above all, safe.

Our technological contribution to the project

As specialists in Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation, Luce IT’s role in ASVIC has focused on endowing the vehicle with intelligent “eyes” and optimizing its digital brain. Specifically, we have worked on:

  • Embedded computer vision systems: Researching and designing models capable of detecting road conditions in real-time, identifying obstacles, and recognizing signage elements to guarantee maximum road safety.
  • Software optimization: Adjusting and improving the embedded software within the vehicle’s hardware so that all critical processes run efficiently and quickly.

What does the CDTI evaluation consist of and what does it mean for Luce IT?

Passing the CDTI evaluation is not a mere formality. It is a rigorous and exhaustive audit process where a committee of independent experts validates two fundamental aspects:

  1. Technical justification: It is meticulously verified that the promised research objectives have been achieved, that the algorithms work, and that the proposed innovation is real and applicable.
  2. Economic justification: It is closely analyzed that every resource and grant received has been strictly invested in the project’s development and under criteria of total transparency.

What does it mean for us to successfully pass another CDTI evaluation?

For Luce IT, this new approval is a seal of guarantee. It objectively demonstrates that we are a completely trusted technology partner, capable of managing highly complex R&D&i projects with the utmost budgetary rigor and the highest technical excellence.

Passing these evaluations consolidates our reputation in the Artificial Intelligence and software engineering sector, demonstrating that the solutions we develop do not just stay on paper, but comply with the demanding standards of official bodies and major automotive industry leaders like Renault.

What does the end of ASVIC mean?

With the closure and validation of ASVIC, we close a key chapter in connected mobility research. This project not only leaves a legacy of technological innovation but also generates a strong socioeconomic impact in our region, Castile and León, boosting highly qualified employment and consolidating Valladolid as a reference hub in autonomous driving technologies.

We will continue researching, developing, and overcoming challenges to put the most advanced technology at the service of people and companies.

Frequently asked questions about ASVIC and its funding

What is Level 4 autonomous driving (L4) developed in ASVIC?

Level 4 automation means that the vehicle has the necessary technology to drive itself completely and without human intervention, although limited to certain geographic areas or specific controlled environments (called ODDs).

What has been Luce IT’s main contribution to the ASVIC project?

Luce IT has contributed its expertise in Artificial Intelligence through the research and design of embedded computer vision systems. These models allow the vehicle to detect road conditions, identify obstacles, and recognize traffic signs, in addition to optimizing the software integrated into the car.

How important is the approval of the CDTI evaluation?

It officially guarantees that the project has met the strictest standards of both technological innovation and transparency in economic management. For a technology company, passing this evaluation is synonymous with solvency, rigor, and quality in R&D&i development.

What specific criteria does the CDTI evaluate to approve an R&D&i project like ASVIC?

The CDTI conducts a rigorous review divided into two main blocks. On one hand, the technical evaluation, which confirms that the proposed innovations (such as the computer vision models developed by Luce IT) have been executed and meet the scientific objectives. On the other hand, the economic evaluation, a detailed audit that verifies that every euro of the grant has been allocated transparently and justifiably to the project’s resources.

How does it benefit Luce IT’s clients and partners that the company successfully passes these evaluations?

Passing the CDTI validation acts as a seal of guarantee of maximum reliability. For our clients and collaborators, this means that Luce IT not only possesses the technological capacity to develop complex Artificial Intelligence projects but also has a solid, transparent organizational and financial structure, audited under the most demanding public standards.“`
